Tallhedge Buckthorn or Alder Buckthorn

Rhamnus frangula

This is a thornless variety of Buckthorn and grows in a columnar shape. It will get tall and is most commonly grown as a hedge. It has oval shaped, dark green, glossy leaves. In the spring it blooms small white flowers followed by inedible berries. The berries attract birds. Plant in moist, well drained soil.
