These bugs feed mainly on wither squash; including pumpkins, some melons and gourds. Damage will include wilted vines and leaves will crisp and discolor. Remove debris from garden after harvest. They winter over so the less cover they have the better. These bugs have an unpleasant odor in large numbers or when crushed.

Remove all garden trash and debris after harvest before winter.  Pick off adult bugs.  Crush eggs or prune infested leaves.  Diatomaceous earth and neem oil can be used on base of plant.
