Suitable soil is sandy and well drained.  

Plant in container only a few inches bigger than root ball.  Excess soil stays too wet.  It needs 3-4  hours of direct sunlight.  Without enough light it will not produce flowers.  Water when soil is dry to the touch, don't let completely dry out, but don't over water.
